WHO WE ARE

The ACT NOW FILMFESTIVAL is a space where cinema, sport, and activism converge. It celebrates stories that highlight the power of athletes and communities to challenge injustice, confront the climate crisis, and spark collective change. Over two days, the festival brings audiences, filmmakers, and activists into dialogue — using the big screen as a catalyst for reflection and action.

The festival was born out of Athletes Act Now, an NGO founded by Florian Handschuh, competitive freeride snowboarder and activist. With a mission to raise awareness through diverse strategies and a focus on driving a cultural shift — harnessing the visibility and reach of athletes — Athletes Act Now laid the foundation for the festival’s vision.
